Delivers maximum lift capacity within limited spaces.
The unique design of the X-IM provides a cost effective way of maximising your lift shaft’s full potential, whether it’s a new or existing one. The result is a bigger lift car without expensive building work and with minimum disruption to the operation of your organisation.
The X-IM – The Benefits
- Maximises lift capacity without structural alterations
- No planning permission or building control approval for existing shaft projects
- Minimal pit and headroom requirements to reduce additional building work
- Minimal load bearing walls required
- Designed to reduce running and maintenance costs
- Larger lift car with automatic doors to give independence to the wheelchair user
- A quiet, smooth ride with accurate floor levelling for safe access
- Range of car interiors/finishes and access improvements available
How does it work?
The X-IM liberates every millimetre of available space inside the lift shaft. Unlike conventional systems, only the lift guide rails occupy shaft space. This is thanks to a direct acting hydraulic ram mechanism underneath the car which powers the X-IM. The area previously filled with lifting equipment is now filled with usable lift space. This advanced concept provides a lift which, on average, has 46% more floor space than conventional counterparts can achieve using the same size shaft. This efficient system is essential in buildings with narrow shafts or where space is at a premium.

The limited dimensions of some lift shafts make standard lift packages an expensive replacement because they require building work to extend the shaft. The revolutionary X-IM does not usually need any building work or shaft widening.
Some lift shafts are so small that even the X-IM cannot allow them to accommodate a wheelchair or conform to Local Authority guidelines. However, before you take the costly step of constructing a new lift shaft, ask us about our LANTAC approved lift shaft extension system which has automatic building regulation consent.
