The Downs House “Home lift” was having reliability problems, and a damaged plastic door and worn interior meant that improvement works were required.

After carrying out a technical survey we confirmed that the best option was to carry out a full modernisation of the drive system and controller which would then allow us to improve the car and doors.

The lift has now been upgraded with a new smoother and safer drive system, with controller, pushes, and a new wooden car interior along with a new car door - one that can take a few knocks from trolleys and wheelchairs.

The home are now delighted with their safe and reliable lift which looks the same as a new lift but costs much less - and only took two weeks to complete.
